The internet has really influenced a lot of shoppers nowadays. In fact, a number of online shoppers from Ireland have spent big percentage doing online transactions based on the 2009 Eurostat statistics update.
The Eurostat statistics report posted on its most current issue about the State of the Net report, the turnover of e-commerce outlets accounts for 26% of enterprise return to Ireland. This 26% is considered as the highest percentage among the 27 countries of the European Union. Some of the countries included are Finland and Sweden with 18 %, Czech Republic, Germany and Britain with 15 %. The entire European Union average is 12%. 
Within the last three months, 29% of Irish online shoppers purchased or ordered goods and services via the internet. On the other hand, most of the transactions were done with the companies from outside Ireland. The 62 percent of the e-commerce turnover collected abroad, the other 39 percent in EU state, while 23 percent outside the EU.
The , Eurostat reported news last year stated that the 21 percent of Irish online shoppers bought tickets for travel and paid for accommodations of their holiday cost via the internet, the percentage goes to shopping of electronic goods are 5 percent while 41 percent for clients specifically searching for furniture or appliances for home.
